‘Scorpion’ season 3, episode 15 preview: Walter, Paige vs. sharks

Scorpion -Monday night’s new episode of “Scorpion” looks completely ridiculous. In other words, we’re all for it. This episode should be the perfect combination of two different things we appreciate.

1. Walter and Paige spending a substantial amount of time together, and therefore forcing the two of them to at least circle around some elephants in the room. (Or, given this episode, should we say a shark in the room?)

2. An actual shark circling the two of them.

Basically, somehow during this episode the two characters are going to find themselves adrift at sea, and are going to find themselves being pushed further and further from shore. This was bad, but finding a buoy to get on was a temporary reprieve … at least until a shark arrived.

We cannot even begin to comment on the plausibility on all of this, other than stating that it all feels completely ridiculous. Aren’t sharks mostly interested in blood? Then again, if we’re willing to watch four “Sharknado” movies, we probably should just buy into the idea of a shark diving out of the water to attack Walter and Paige. Hey, at least the two of them are in the middle of the ocean. Also, IT’S A TV SHOW. If we were to question the realism behind every episode of “Scorpion,” our brain would probably explode. If we were to be a Mythbuster looking at this show, we’d say many of the situations that the team finds themselves in are plausible, but also heightened and incredibly unlikely in real life. This is in part what makes the show so fun; you want to see things that you don’t have a tendency to see anywhere else.

This who episode feels like a hoot; we still would be shocked if anything major happens romantically between Walter / Paige before we get around to the finale, but who knows? This is a show that has surprised us before in one way or another.
