‘Madam Secretary’ season 3, episode 14 preview: When will Tea Leoni, cast return to CBS?
Tonight, you are getting a new episode of “Madam Secretary” that is going to be featuring everything from more international kerfuffles to also a debate as to whether or not one Elizabeth McCord is going to be handed a Nobel Peace Prize.
So what is going to be coming up beyond this? Here is the bad news: You’re going to be waiting for a really long period of time. The next new episode of the show is not coming until we get to Sunday, February 26, and that is a rather LONG time to wait. So what gives? There are a couple of different factors at play.
1. The Super Bowl – That’s coming on Fox next week, but CBS knows very well that it would be idiotic for them to waste a new episode by throwing it up against the biggest television event of the year. Nobody would be watching, and this would dent the season 4 chances for the show in a rather substantial way.
2. The Grammys – This is coming up on February 12, and since that broadcast also airs on CBS, it absolutely renders the prospects of getting new episodes of this show pretty much impossible.
As for why there is no new episode coming on February 19 … well, that’s a good question, and regrettably one that we don’t necessarily have all that grant of an answer to at the moment. Hopefully,, there is going to be a little more clarity there at some point when we get a little closer. One possibility is that “NCIS: Los Angeles” (which is airing on the night) has more episodes a season, so they may have to pick up a little bit of ground at some point.
Anyway, the positive news here is that when the show does return, you’ll get to see more new episodes almost straight through from now until we get to the finale in the spring. Maybe there’ll be a short hiatus here and there, but that’s it.
