‘Arrow’ season 5, episode 11 preview: Talia al Ghul and ‘Second Chances’

Arrow -There are a wide array of reasons to be excited about the next all-new episode of “Arrow,” but we do firmly believe that many of them begin with the words “Talia al Ghul.” She’s a famous comic-book character that is FINALLY coming onto the show, and with that, she brings a lot of intrigue on a certain Oliver Queen’s past. You’ll get a chance through her to learn a little about her history and also her relationship with Oliver Queen — and hopefully, along the way someone will mention why Oliver never brought her up before given the fact that he MARRIED HER SISTER IN THE PRESENT. We do tend to think that this is kind of a big deal.

What is probably getting lost somewhat in the promotional shuffle for this episode is that Talia is not the only new character who is going to be coming aboard next week for “Second Chances.” You’re also going to be seeing another vigilante to go along with the actual guy Vigilante in the present.

Synopsis – “In his quest to take down Kovar, Oliver (Stephen Amell) gets help from a surprising source – Talia al Ghul (guest star Lexa Doig). However, when she reveals what she wants from him in exchange, Oliver isn’t sure he can accept her help. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) attempts to hack the NSA to help free Diggle (David Ramsey) but when her online efforts are flagged, she faces off against an unknown adversary. Meanwhile, Curtis (Echo Kellum) tells the team about a female vigilante, Tina Boland (guest star Juliana Harkavay), he uncovered online who has been wreaking havoc all over the country.”

Who could Felicity’s adversary be? That’s another good question. We haven’t heard about the Calculator returning, and given the recent time that they’ve spent together, we’re not sure that they would even be in this situation.

Promo – Strangely, the show is choosing to promote Tina, who we learned in the episode may be the new Canary candidate, than they are Talia. Hey, we get it that not everyone is really digging some of the flashbacks that the show is offering these days.
