‘Bull’ episode 13 preview: When will Michael Weatherly, cast return?

Tonight’s new episode of “Bull” will feature the TAC in a state of crisis different than any that they’ve been in before. After all, we haven’t seen Jason Bull or anyone else in the team be held at gunpoint in order to look into a case further.

As for where the show goes moving past this, we’ve got a little bit of ambiguity on that subject right now for one clear reason: There is no new episode of the show airing on CBS next week, and for whatever reason, the network’s been a little bit hesitant when it comes to sharing details for upcoming synopses far in advance. Therefore, the only thing that seems to be confirmed for now is that Michael Weatherly and company will return to CBS on Tuesday, February 7 with a new episode — the 13th of the season.

In this case, there is one reason in particular why episode #13 is significant: Had CBS not picked up the show for a full season, this episode would have functioned as a season or even series finale. We’re not sure if there is anything special that was planned for it in advance, or if the show’s producers started to move things around once they realized that they had nine more episodes to work with this season. It just wouldn’t shock us at all of this was one of the biggest episodes of the season so far, especially since we’re going into February sweeps.

Of course, one of the challenges that could come from presenting Bull with an elevated crisis is that every one of his cases is significant in their own way, and they all bring some struggles in one form or another to the table. The only way to differentiate this really is if you either bring in a big-name guest star, or you extend the story into a two-parter or something that is structurally a little bit different from what we’re used to.
