When could ‘Power’ season 4 release first trailer?

Power -Power” fans, you know that we love the show as much as you do, and given the way that the third season ended, we certainly know that you’re hoping to get some more scoop on the show soon.

Will we get some in the form of new photos soon? Maybe. Starz has been pretty good about handing that stuff down. They know that it’s a long wait between seasons, and as a result of that, they’re happy to do what they can to help. Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean you’re going to get a trailer in January for a show that doesn’t typically come back on the air typically until the summer. There are two reasons against airing a trailer now.

1. You don’t know how much footage they’ve got – Sure, they’ve filmed a lot, but there is post-production and editing to do. Also, when you release the trailer you want to have a good chunk of the season done so that you can edit together the best parts that make sense in the bite-size format.

2. It’s also way too far away – As we referenced, the show’s probably at least five months, if not longer, from coming back. It doesn’t make any sense for Starz to drop a trailer with their best stuff now, only for everyone to forget about it between now and when we get closer to when the show returns.

For those of you looking for an accurate timeline, think of things this way: The season 3 trailer came out about a month and a half before it premiered on Starz. Therefore, if the show starts in mid-July, maybe we’ll get a chance to see some real footage of Ghost behind bars in late May / early June. On the flip side, if it’s early August, maybe you’ll get something in the middle of June.

The reason we’re especially unsure about the scheduling for the show right now is because Starz has a crowded field for the next few months. You’ve got new seasons of “Black Sails” and “Outlander” coming up as usual, but then also “American Gods.” Unless you’re putting two shows on the same night, or airing something on a different night altogether, could this mean that something gets pushed back? To us, we think pairing “Outlander” with “American Gods” would be gold for both shows, but we don’t work for the network and don’t have much of a sense as to what they want to do. “Power” is the sort of show that regardless of when they are it, people are going to watch. They don’t have to concern themselves with scheduling in terms of the ratings.
