‘Good Behavior’ renewed for season 2 by TNT

Good Behavior -

For everyone out there who loved the first season of “Good Behavior,” we’re coming at you today with what is certainly some very-good news: The series, which stars Michelle Dockery of “Downton Abbey” fame, will have a second season over at TNT.

The network made the renewal official during their TCA Winter Press Tour panel on Saturday, and we applaud them for being so quick on it. This renewal does further along the hot-and-cold relationship that we do have at present with the network. We’re thrilled to see such quick renewals for shows like this one and “The Last Ship,” but it’s still a bummer to see them drag their feet so much when it comes to the future of another show in “Major Crimes.”

From the jump, it appeared that “Good Behavior” had the potential to be one of the most intriguing shows of the fall, given that you had Dockery going about as far from Lady Mary as possible to play the part of con artist Letty. She gets to basically play several different characters in one, and the show told a story that was fantastic and contained a wide array of different twists. The question that we have is just what the show is going to be planning now for season 2, given that the finale last time probably could have doubled for a series finale if it really needed to.

In terms of the ratings the first go-around, the show didn’t necessarily hit it out of the park — though there may be many reasons for that. For one, it had the the impossible challenge of having to air against the likes of “Bull,” “This Is Us,” and comedies over on ABC, and trying to promote a new series in particular this fall was difficult given the sole fact that there was the specter of the Presidential Election hanging over everything. With a season under its belt and some time for people to catch up in between, we can easily envision the show faring so much better when it returns.

Our advice to all of you who want to see the show continue well beyond season 1 is clear: Convince your friends to get caught up, and when the show premieres again (most likely in the fall), make a concentrated effort to watch live! This is the best way to ensure a long-term future is in store.

What’s your take on the renewal? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below! We’ll of course have some further news on the second season as soon as more is available. (Photo: TNT.)
