How ‘Bones’ season 12, episode 2 will be effected by President Obama address

Bones -Earlier today, we published a report noting precisely what was going to happen over at NBC as a result of President Obama’s final address taking place at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time — it looks to be delaying a new episode of “This Is Us,” and temporarily displacing a new episode of “Chicago Fire.”

So what about Fox? We’ve got at least some more news regarding “Bones” and some of the rest of the network’s lineup. On the comedy front, there will still be episodes of “New Girl” and “The Mick” to air as previously planned. The network may even be looking to take advantage of viewers who are tuning in early hoping to catch the speech.

As for “Bones,” the show that would technically be starting at 9:00 were it not for the speech, Fox will be pushing the start time of “The Brain in the Bot” (check out some more information on it here) until 9:25. Be forewarned that this is tentative, and depending on what happens with Obama’s address, there is a reasonably good chance that it could be changed if it runs long.

For now, though, we don’t see Fox doing anything altogether crazy with the schedule for “Bones” beyond just airing the episode as soon as the speech is over. After all, they already have a pretty tight schedule for Tuesdays the remainder of the year, and pushing the episode back would cause a domino effect. Also, at the same time you have to remember that with this being the final season, the network probably doesn’t care as much about ratings as they would otherwise. So long as we get to see the show, we’re happy.

As always, let us know some of your thoughts in the comments below! (One final note: This time change is just for Eastern / Central time zones only. For everyone on the West Coast / anywhere else where the speech is airing before primetime, your episode will air according to plan.) (Photo: Fox.)
