‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 10, episode 12 video: Celebrate 2017 by looking back on 2016’s end

Big Bang -The first episode of “The Big Bang Theory” in the new year is premiering on CBS Thursday night, and in preparation for that, the network was kind enough to share a longer preview recently for what is coming up. Take a look at it below, and of course read some of the paragraphs ahead for further scoop!

Unlike most other episodes of the show, “The Holiday Summation” is going to be utilizing a more nonlinear form of storytelling to get us from the end of the winter finale to where we are today. Since the show didn’t have a proper Christmas episode this time around, this is something that is going to be told via flashbacks in the episode alongside other things. For the Sheldon story, for example, he will have went to Texas with Amy for part of the holidays. Meanwhile, we’re also going to see more of how Bernadette and Howard managed to get along with their baby during the first few weeks of bringing her home.

We do think that this is an effective idea, largely because the passage of time is not often something that we get a clear sense of within this show. While we know there are concerns about what having a baby could do to the overall dynamic, we do personally think that it could be an asset in that department. You get to see this child start to get older for at least however long the show’s on the air. (Let’s make it clear — we do think that the show will be coming back for a season 11. It’s just at that point in the run where you have to start thinking a little bit more about end dates.)

Also, this episode provides a fun opportunity to see how Raj and Stuart, pictured above, get on in their jobs of nannies. You know the expression “it takes a village”? We’re not actually sure that it does for Howard and Bernadette, but they’re getting one anyway.
