‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 13: Ellen Pompeo, husband Chris Ivery welcome baby boy
Mrs. Carter: Ellen Pompeo’s family has another gift this holiday season!
In a new post on Instagram (see below), the star of “Grey’s Anatomy” officially confirmed that she and her husband Chris Ivery have welcomed a new addition to their family in a baby boy Eli Christopher Ivery, who seems to be doing great. The child joins Pompeo and Ivery’s other children in Sienna May and Stella Luna.
In terms of timing, there was almost certainly no better occasion in which Pompeo could have welcomed a son into her family. “Grey’s Anatomy,” like so many other shows on TV, has a little hiatus in here where everyone can enjoy a little time around one another before diving further into doing some more work on the Shonda Rhimes series. New episodes of “Grey’s Anatomy” will start airing again in January, but that is not timed in any way to the show’s filming schedule, which will run until a little bit later in the spring.
Congratulations to Ellen and Chris! One of the great things about working on this show in particular is that there are so so many other parents who you can communicate with and and share stories. Sarah Drew, Jessica Capshaw, and Jesse Williams all recently welcomed new additions to their own families, and Camilla Luddington is currently expecting a child. We don’t imagine that this family vibe is going to be leaving this show anytime soon! One of the ways that the writers have been able in so many ways to accommodate there being new parents is by having such a large cast; this helps to ensure that nobody is taking on too heavy a commitment at any one time and that everyone gets a little bit of the spotlight, as well.
