‘Girl Meets World’ season 3, episode 20: ‘Girl Meets Sweet Sixteen’

As everyone is enjoying your holiday festivities, we thought it’d be nice to bring you today an update on one of your favorite shows as a last-minute gift: “Girl Meets World.” There are only a few episodes left this season and possibly for the series as a whole, and this means that this is probably the part of the show where things are going to start to get reflective.

The photo above is your first-look image from “Girl Meets Sweet Sixteen,” an episode that is going to be airing on the Disney Channel come Friday, January 13. This is the second-to-last episode of the season, and there are going to be parallels between this and “Girl Meets Bay Window,” an episode near the end of season 2 that put Riley Matthews in a position where she started to look back and reflect a little bit on the future and what it could hold.

Based on what’s been released by the network to date, this episode will feature Riley preparing to celebrate her sixteenth birthday (hence the title), an enormous moment in the life of anyone her age. This is a time where you start to think more about your future and what you want out of your life, which leads all of the characters to think more about where their friendships will be in a few short years.

After all, think about things this way: There is only so much time that these kids have left before they are adults, they graduate, and they start to look more towards other things that they want to do beyond spend time with their friends in their neighborhood. We hope that they will all remain close — we don’t want to get cynical beyond that. It’s Christmas!
