‘Elementary’ season 5, episode 10 video: Conflict over Shinwell … and Joan’s license

Elementary -The final episode of “Elementary” if the year is going to air on CBS this Sunday night, and judging from some of the information that we’ve got now, indications are that there should be a little bit of drama that is coming up in some rather unexpected places.

First of all, there’s the issue of Shinwell Johnson, which is causing some tension between Sherlock and Joan. The former feels like in putting Shinwell back into a place where he was in jeopardy before, he’s being set up for further turmoil. Clearly, Watson disagrees with him. We figure that much of this will be figured out over the course of the episode, and Holmes may for the time being be acting a little bit reactionary based on the fact that he worked hard and took some big risks in order to ensure that Shinwell did not end up back in prison — including breaking some laws himself.

As for the second sneak peek, this features a little bit more of what could be the central dilemma for the episode, and one that features Joan in a bizarre pickle that she hasn’t quite been in on the show before. Specifically, we’re talking here about her finding herself at the center of allegedly writing a prescription that she did not actually write. You can see a little bit more of that below, as Bell shows her a dead body that apparently died used a prescription written by her. She appears confused, and this is where the drama begins.

We’re not entirely sure that anyone within the show’s main cast will believe that Joan is guilty of anything, just because they know her too well and it’s not like she has a lot of time to write out many of these things. Yet, at the same time we’re not sure anyone unfamiliar with her or her work is going to be anywhere near as accommodating.
