‘Blindspot’ season 2 spoilers: Good news for Jane, Weller may actually be on the way!

There were certainly times over the course of the past twelve or so “Blindspot” episodes where we’ve wondered whether or not there was any hope at all for the relationship between Jane and Weller at all given everything that they’ve been through. Yet, here’s the weird thing about their relationship at the moment: They’ve almost gone through so much that they now are so broken that they can only be with each other. No one else would be able to understand them anymore in the wake of Sandstorm, betrayals, plans, and basically having to stop a nearly-endless string of various operations that would threaten lives.

Given that there’s some love clearly there, there’s also luckily a feeling that this shared need for one another isn’t firmly just out of obligation.

In speaking on this subject further to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Martin Gero had the following message to pass along:

“Both Weller and Jane have gone through a very traumatic experience the last season and a half, and they are uniquely capable of understanding each other in a way that I don’t think anybody else can … Their friendship and relationship really blossoms in the second half of the season.”

In other words, there’s a whole lot of hope! If you’re a hardcore ‘shipper of the two of them, odds are that there are going to be a lot of moments coming up that should end up making you incredibly happy. Of course, we count ourselves among the people who are rooting for them to be together, but much of television is about moments and you have to find the right one. At the moment, we would assume that the top priority for these characters is going to be dealing with the aftermath of the cliffhanger at the end of the first half of the season, which is tied closely to Patterson.
