‘The Bachelor’ photo: See Nick Viall’s women in cast photo!

Nick -Earlier today, ABC formally lifted the veil on all of the contenders for this season of “The Bachelor,” and it appears already to be a rather interesting assortment of people. Nick Viall is definitely going to get a chance to pick from the most diverse group of women that we’ve seen on the show over the years, and they of course come from all over the country and different walks of life.

In looking solely at the photo above, two questions almost immediately come to mind:

1. Is Nick standing or sitting? We obviously do think that he’s standing because he would be around eight feet tall otherwise, but the way that the shadow forms around him makes this into some sort of really bizarre optical illusion where it feels almost like he’s leaning / half-sitting against something.

2. How did the producers to convince someone to share up for the first night dressed as Left Shark? Okay, maybe this is a dolphin; we’re not entirely sure, but it’s madness effectively either way.

Below, you can see the first details of all of the cast members as announced by ABC today — but don’t worry, these are people we’re going to be getting more into as we get closer to the premiere. The one thing that we will say for now is that surprisingly, we don’t think any of these job titles are all that ridiculous — with one exception that’s a little over-the-top.

The aforementioned one that we’re talking about her is “aspiring dolphin trainer,” but even when you stop to think about that for a minute, we’ve absolutely seen a whole lot worse on the show over the years. Dolphin trainers are actually real, viable jobs — we’ll just have to wait and see if this person is actually in training, or is just sitting around her apartment all day having conversations with pretend dolphins. That’s a big distinction.

We’ll be spotlighting every one of these women in the upcoming days over at the link here, so stay tuned — and prepare for some comedy. We always get that with this show every season. (Photo: ABC.)
