Donald Trump complains about ‘Saturday Night Live’ cold open about tweeting by tweeting about it

SNL -Over the past couple of weeks, Donald Trump at the very least waited until the following morning to levy his criticisms at “Saturday Night Live” over their depiction of him. This time around, he only waited around 45 or so minutes.

In a post on Twitter, the President-Elect referred to the impersonation from Alec Baldwin as “sad” (his favorite adjective) while also proclaiming that the show is biased. The latter part of the critique is probably somewhat valid, given that this was once a show that tried to play to both sides of the aisle. However, in fairness to “SNL” they tried tonight with a sketch about hunting for Hillary Clinton in the woods. There’s just not much going on with her, while Trump is retweeting messages from 16-year olds on Twitter who share his own point of view.

The funniest part of the entire sketch was that the basic message of it was that Trump spends too much time tweeting to be a proper Commander-in-Chief … and then we end up seeing him on Twitter commenting on the show mere minutes after the cold open aired.

We’re not going to get into politics, or discuss what Trump, a grown man who obviously has a lot of power in the world, should be doing with his Twitter account. What we love here is irony, and this may be one of the most ironic things that we’ve seen all night. Also, we do very much love the idea that Alec Baldwin could somehow continue to stay on the show just so that he can continue to rule Trump up; he seems to be enjoying the discussion that comes from being insulted on Twitter almost every time he comes on for the cold open.
