‘Shark Tank’ preview: PetPlate, Nomiku, InBoard, Nootrobox, and Simply Fit Board

Shark Tank -Tonight, “Shark Tank” returns following a week off with a new episode, and one that is going to feature at the center of it many different products with many different benefits. There’s also a rather great incentive to watch this episode if you are a fan of Chris Sacca’s, given that he will be returning, as well.

Consider this article the precursor to everything that is coming up later, when we preview these products once again via the sneak peeks that are out there courtesy of ABC. This is a chance to get your feet wet on what these products are, what they do, and also some early impressions of them based on research online. Clicking any of the links directs you to the official website.

For those wondering, the update segment tonight will be geared around Simply Fit Board, a product that is continuing to make a splash in the fitness industry.

Update: Check out our review for tonight here.

Nomiku – For those of you out there who have a real interest in cooking dishes using the sous vide technique at home, this product is a way to ensure that you can get the perfect cook all the time. You can even set the cooking to begin while you’re away via an app, which adds significantly to the benefit of the product for people who are busy-bodies but still want a home-cooked meal. The biggest downside comes here courtesy of not many everyday consumers knowing what this process is, so you have to go through the education. This is a product that needs a QVC-style demonstration to really get over the top.

InBoard – This is certainly an impressive product: An intuitive, motorized battery-powered skateboard that allows its user to glide along without some of the manual labor, delivering an optimal gliding experience. Granted, it also looks very easy to wipe out on. It looks sleek, it feels like a cool new innovation … and then you look at the price. Unless there’s a ton of money to burn in your banking account, spending close to $1,400 on a skateboard feels like a commodity splurge more than a necessity.

PetPlate – The idea of this is extremely smart. After all, who doesn’t want an opportunity to serve up the best food possible to their pets? Unfortunately, herein lies the problem for PetPlate as a service: It’s pretty expensive as opposed to buying food at the local pet store. While it is far healthier, it’s basically the equivalent of buying all of your groceries at a Whole Foods as opposed to a standard grocery story — you’re probably eating much better, but at the same time paying for it. This seems to be more tailor-made for a high-end pet market; it’s not for everyone, but we could see some out there willing to pay for it.

Nootrobox – Finally, let’s turn to what is a line of supplements that you can take over an extended period of time to eventually improve overall cognitive performance. The packaging on this is crisp and effective, but the product itself is a little bit of an enigma. Mark Cuban in particular is notoriously hard on products that boast some sort of health benefit either physically or mentally; it’s hard to see him being on board here unless this company comes in with an outstanding presentation.
