‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 13, episode 9 (winter finale) preview: Will Alex go to prison?
There are many things that we’d like to see from network TV these days, and admittedly, one of the sillier ones is that we’d like to see networks get on the same page when it comes to terminology. Why is it a “fall finale” on one network and a “winter finale” on another?
With that in mind, let’s just move forward to detailing the winter/fall finale of “Grey’s Anatomy,” which certainly looks on paper like it is going to be one of the more important installments of the ABC series this year. After all, it is very well possible that we learn of Dr. Alex Karev’s future over the course of this hour after spending most of the fall going through his legal process.
Synopsis – “Believing he is going to jail tomorrow, Alex makes a big decision about his future. While the hospital is overrun with victims of a building collapse, Richard demands answers from Bailey about Eliza’s presence at Grey Sloan.”
Of course, with Alex’s future also comes the future of Justin Chambers on the show. If Alex leaves, we imagine that he does, as well. Luckily, we haven’t heard anything suggesting that Chambers is looking to leave — given that he is one of the few original cast members who is still on board the series, we certainly don’t want to see that change at all.
As for the other stories, can you really be surprised about there being another grave disaster at the hospital that could alter many lives over the course of the hour? This is “Grey’s Anatomy” after all and if there wasn’t some disaster happening we wouldn’t know what we are watching. Meanwhile, Webber’s future could also be in danger, given that for the most part, he’s spent the past few weeks having his teaching methods and styles questioned by those around him.
Promo – Nothing but bombshells. That’s how ABC is promoting this, and we understand after watching this. You’ve got Alex as he contemplates his future, while at the same time Richard is going to become incensed. We may have answers by the end of the episode, but they may not be wanted ones.
