‘Arrow’ season 5, episode 7 preview: Vigilante, and recovering from that Quentin Lance shocker

Arrow -Tonight’s “Arrow” should serve as a good source of information on the story of Prometheus, which is largely important given that this is set to be the Big Bad for the series in the immediate future.

Moving beyond that, next week’s new episode “Vigilante” is going to prove itself important for some different reasons. District Attorney Adrian Chase in the comics eventually takes on this alter ego, and it is fair to say that he will probably be doing so within this world, as well. Seeing his debut could prove exciting, but at the same time present a major dilemma for the current members of Team Arrow. Even if other vigilantes out there have the same motives in wanting to clean up the streets, at the same time that does not necessarily mean that they are worthy people to work with.

Synopsis – “When the bodies of two criminals are dropped at SCPD, Oliver (Stephen Amell) realizes there is a new Vigilante in Star City. The team is split about whether they should stop someone who is helping keep the city safe. Diggle (David Ramsey) is frustrated with his new situation and Thea (Willa Holland) fights for Lance (Paul Blackthorne) who confesses a shocking secret. Meanwhile, in the flashbacks, Oliver finally sits down with Konstantin Kovar (guest star Dolph Lundgren).”

It’s easy to be excited about this episode just from the vantage point of seeing Vigilante on the show after all of the hype; Lundgren taking on a larger role on the series is the icing on the cake. After years of being heavily criticized for some of the flashback stories, this is the first time since season 2 that the series has been able to secure a major guest star for this timeline that has viewers excited. Let’s hope now that it lives up to some of the hype.

Promo – There’s a lot of Vigilante in here, but it’s a somewhat frustrating promo since we’re sure that what most people really want answers on is if Quentin Lance is really Prometheus. We have a hard time wrapping our head around that, so we don’t think it’s so — at least for now.
