‘NCIS: New Orleans’ season 3, episode 5: Agent Pride’s team discovers Cartel link to plane crash

New Orleans -On Tuesday night the fans of “NCIS: New Orleans” cheered on Agent Pride’s team of NCIS agents as they began to unravel the details of a deadly plane crash in the Bayou. Focused on finding the truth, the agents have to deal with a few unpredictable elements that bring the team closer together as the unit still recovers from losing Brody.

The deadly plane crash isn’t exactly a pilot’s error. Detailing each of the passengers, the team identifies that one passenger was left off the flight plan and he’s the only survivor. In a surprise finding, the agents reveal that even after the crash, someone is watching the debris field with a high level drone. Suspecting it is the CIA, agents Lasalle and Percy, with the help of FBI Special Agent Tammy Gregorio, search for clues and find more than they bargain for. Not only is there one drone, but several mini drones scoping the area looking for the survivor.

As Agent Pride promised the service member’s family to do all he could to get to the bottom of the crash, it was becoming obvious this was possibly a Cartel hit. The plane crashed after the pilots were shot and the survivor was a witness who knew too much for his own good. Working with the CIA (and perhaps other parts of the government) he was getting a free ride to the United States to spill his guts and help with cartel intelligence.

The final minutes of the episode had the agents deep in the bayou in a fierce gun battle. Agent Pride crashed the party in style with his airboat. Able to jump a small land mass, it was his element of surprised that unpinned his agents and help recover the single passenger who was alive after the crash.

As the New Orleans office continues to look for another agent to find the desk left behind by former Agent Brody, the backstory of FBI Special Agent Tammy Gregorio was finally shared with the viewers. Apparently Gregorio’s reason for not liking New Orleans has everything to do with the trouble she left behind years ago. Looking for a fresh start with the FBI, it appears she wasn’t pleased to be returning and her acceptance of working with Agent Pride’s team is a work in progress.

We really enjoyed the nail biting action on this episode of “NCIS: New Orleans.” Not only was the front row seat of the bayou exciting to see, it was delightful to watch as the NCIS team has become closer than ever! Episode grade: A
