‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 4, episode 4 preview: Ghost Rider, SHIELD square off
For the first few episodes of season 4, Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD” spent a good bit of time setting up the origins of their version of Ghost Rider. Not only that, but they also gave you a good sense that Robbie Reyes was a very different person than the Spirit of Vengeance within him. He wants it gone, and realizes that doing so may be no easy task.
Next week’s episode is entitled “Let Me Stand Next to Your Fire,” and it seems that for the immediate time being, the Ghost Rider is going to supersede whatever it is that Robbie wants. This leads him into further violence, and one of the most dangerous situations we’ve seen to date.
Synopsis – “As Ghost Rider’s quest for vengeance brings him into an explosive confrontation with S.H.I.E.L.D., Coulson and Mack must rely on an unlikely ally in their time of desperate need; and Daisy reunites with a familiar face to stop the Watchdogs.”
We learned tonight that the Watchdogs were the responsible party for what happened with the blackouts, and knowing Daisy, she’s one of the few people capable of taking them out. She’s going to need help in order to make it happen.
Promo – We’re not going to pretend that this is the most informative promo in the world, but it contains plenty of footage that should excite. You’ve got a car chase, you’ve got Coulson questioning Robbie about the source of his power, and in general, you’ve got signs that all hell is going to be breaking loose. If nothing else, at least rejoice in that you’ve got Phil wearing a suit again. The group is public!
