‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 13 spoilers: Tessa Ferrer returns — will Leah romance Arizona?
We heard a little while ago that Arizona was going to get a new love interest on “Grey’s Anatomy” in due time following the exit of Sara Ramirez’s Callie. What we did not imagine was that this potential new love would be someone she’d already met on the show in the past.
ABC announced on Monday that Tessa Ferrer will be returning to the drama for the first time since 2014 as the character Dr. Leah Murphy, who had a brief relationship with Jessica Capshaw’s character before Arizona eventually reconciled with Callie. Unfortunately, that relationship was brief once more, and eventually Callie’s exit was tied to her heading to New York with her new love Penny.
As for how long Ferrer will be back on the series, that is unclear beyond that it will be for at least a couple of episodes. There’s no guarantee that we are going to see Leah in a relationship with Arizona, either; the timing of the announcement just suggests that this could be a possibility.
At the moment, we do think that Arizona could certainly use a little bit of happiness in her life given that she is surrounded on many sides by plenty of chaos. After all, just look at what is going on with Alex and Andrew, who are putting her in a position where it is rather difficult for her to figure out whose side she is on, and whose side she should be on. Of course, she also has her own professional hurdles to deal with, and she’s still a mom and has to cherish whatever family time she has.
