‘American Crime Story’ season 2: Sarah Paulson returning in some capacity

Over the past few years, we’ve clearly seen that Sarah Paulson has been a little bit of a muse of prolific executive producer Ryan Murphy. She’s appeared on every season of “American Horror Story,” won an Emmy for the first season of “American Crime Story,” and she is also set to appear in the upcoming FX anthology series “Feud” in a supporting role.

While this may have been assumed, it was nice to get further confirmation per The Hollywood Reporter overnight that Paulson will be back to play a different role on the second “American Crime Story” season, which is going to revolve in part around Hurricane Katrina and the mishandling of the disaster.

Meanwhile, Paulson herself told the website overnight that after previous close calls with the Emmys, she is ultimately glad that this is the part and the performance that eventually won her a little bit of gold:

“It was a long time in coming and it was worth the wait. I’m glad I won it for this; it was a very meaningful experience for me from top to bottom.”

There is not much in the way of a timetable yet for the second “American Crime Story” season. As a matter of fact, we’d be shocked if the season aired at any point in the first half of next year. There is a considerable amount of work to be done, and for now all we know is that there is likely going to be a mixture of real and fictional people among the cast of characters.
