‘Supergirl’ season 2 spoilers: Meet Metallo!

Just in case you’ve been curious to see who one of the first adversaries is going to be on “Supergirl” season 2, we are rather pleased to have some sort of answer for you now.

According to a new report coming in from Entertainment Weekly, actor Frederick Schmidt has been cast to play the role of Metallo a.k.a. John Corben. The character starts off as a dangerous international assassin, but becomes reborn into a villain powered in many ways by Kryptonite. You will see him appear for the first time in the upcoming premiere episode, and he will have at least one more appearance after that.

One other thing worth noting at the moment is that Metallo will prove himself to be an adversary to both Supergirl and Superman. He’s not limiting himself to a single opponent!

It is particularly exciting to hear this news right now given that for the most part, there has not been a heck of a lot said as of yet on the villains for the second season. We do know that there will be eventually some more news handed out on the villain for the season, but it seems like the show is following the course already-established by some other CW series in giving you a chance to learn a little bit more about all of the different storylines over time. Therefore, by the time in which the main villain has a huge presence, you feel like that story is earned and you have a little bit more of a reason to be afraid of him as opposed to the standard adversary you run into.
