‘The Bachelorette’ review: Did Chase McNary, Robby Hayes, or Jordan Rodgers make finale?

Chase -Tonight’s episode of “The Bachelorette” proved itself to be immensely DRAMATIC, at least from the standpoint of JoJo Fletcher tears. When you have this many of them just within the span of the first part of the episode, you know you’re in for an eventful night.

This part of the episode brought us the elimination of one Luke Pell from the competition, which felt at times almost like a mutual decision in the way they were talking about it. At the same time, both were supremely heartbroken, but we figure Luke will have time to get better when he inevitably is hired to be the next Bachelor. Sure, it’s not confirmed, but does it really need to be?

After Luke did leave, we headed off to Thailand for the final part of the episode, otherwise known as a realm of romance and one of the places where this competition could (potentially) be flipped completely on its head by the overnight dates. Jordan Rodgers, Chase McNary, and Robby Hayes were in contention, though it was pretty clear to us that Jordan was the consensus favorite.

Do we really have to talk about the Overnight Dates? They are almost sleep-inducing, given that every year they are the same exact thing: An epic snoozer where almost nothing ever happens. You’ve got some moments of romance, a fantasy suite, and then declarations of love even though JoJo Fletcher will only pick one guy in the end. Things only started to get interesting when JoJo claimed that she really didn’t have much interest in picking Chase in the middle of their overnight date.

Chase’s exit was somewhat angry, which is mostly great because it’s kind-of true to life. He did show up later to leave on better terms, but that was it. It wasn’t so much of a reentry into the show or anything. We’ve got our final two, which is great since this part of the season is so full of fluff. Grade: C+.
