‘Gotham’ season 3 spoilers: Another DC character could be coming — with a twist!

Gotham -Sometimes, the smallest teases could have the largest implications, and that is what we are wondering now in this latest bit of “Gotham” season 3 scoop straight from San Diego Comic-Con.

We’re not even talking about something that was mentioned at the panel for the show — instead, we’re talking more about something that was said by Jim Gordon himself in Ben McKenzie in an interview with TVLine during the convention. While he did not offer up too many details, he did claim that he would be embodying some other DC Comics character over the course of the third season. Maybe he briefly takes on the name, or maybe he has a doppelganger situation in his own right? The latter would be probably the most surprising, given that we just had something reasonably similar to that courtesy of Clayface.

We will admit that personally, the idea of Jim being Batman has come to mind just because of the fact that he is basically a poorer version of Bruce Wayne, except with police connections. Bruce Wayne is ironically more of his Robin, he has questionable morality, and he knows how to take care of himself physically in trying situations. We don’t actually think he is going to become the Dark Knight or anything; we’re just pointing out some thematic similarities.

“Heroes Will Fall” is at present the subtitle for the third season, which isn’t exactly great news for Jim, Harvey Bullock, and the other good guys within the world of this show. There are certainly also many villains out there to corrupt them, whether it be the return of Fish Mooney, Oswald Cobblepot, or a new arrival in the Mad Hatter (Benedict Samuel of “The Walking Dead”) who we have wanted to see on the series for a long time. He’s almost the perfect epitome of a great comic-book character who has been overlooked over the years thanks to scene-stealers like the Joker and the Riddler.

Rest assured we will be talking about “Gotham” so much more over the coming days at this link, so be sure to stay tuned for more on that! Also, sign up over here to secure some other TV news on all we cover, sent right over to you via our official CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: Fox.)
