‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: On James Taylor, JoJo Fletcher, and a food fiasco

It feels like after about one or two dates, you really know that the last thing that you want to do is something that would probably gross out any rational person in just about any ordinary situation. Yet, for whatever reason, this is something that James Taylor still decided to do on “The Bachelorette” Monday night.

What we learn in the sneak peek below first and foremost is that JoJo, while traveling, does apparently like to have a little bit of comfort food, and this includes chicken nuggets and french fries. For whatever reason, James felt possessed (maybe something crawled in his brain like an episode of “Outcast”?) to show her that he could shove as many fries as possible into his mouth. Was it the grossest thing we’ve ever seen on the show? Far from it, but it was probably far from the most attractive thing, either.

More than anything else, this sneak preview utterly reinforces that James is by and large the show’s equivalent of Andy Dwyer from “Parks and Recreation,” and he does at least bear a slight physical resemblance to Chris Pratt. He’s a character, and from an entertainment standpoint alone, we’d love to see him last. We’re just not sure that it’ll happen, given that JoJo really seems into Jordan Rodgers, and it has already been really well established that he is not a fan of the former football star.
