‘Big Brother 18’ live feed spoilers: Prank wars, more controversy, and an episode 4 sneak peek

Bronte -Tonight, “Big Brother” is returning to CBS with a new episode, and if you want to get excited about that, take a look at the sneak peek below! It’s certainly far more pleasant than some of the stuff we’re about to discuss…

Basically, let’s just get the worst part of this over with: Bronte, who we were relatively high on as potential entertainment preseason, has officially now joined Corey on the list of “people who could be evicted in five minutes who we won’t miss in a second.” There has been conflict started between James and a number of newbies over the past 24 hours or so, and for many different reasons whether it be things that he has supposedly said or some of the pranks that he has pulled. Somehow, someway, this all eventually led to Bronte stating that she wants to send James “back to Hong Kong.”

Unfortunately, racial stereotyping Asians is something that is still pretty prevalent, and the fact that this is the third season in the past eight years where there has been some blatant form of it (see Braden in season 11 or Aaryn in season 15) is pretty darn shocking. We don’t want to say much more about it other than that it’s terrible, mostly because we don’t want the good parts of the season to be overshadowed entirely by the terrible.

Other players had less offensive responses to some of James’ pranks, with Paul and Victor at times threatening to beat him up over it. There was a brief argument about it earlier, where the guys complained that James is helping contribute to the spread of ants in the house (true), which he responded to by saying that they would be around anyway (also true). and also that some of these guys should lighten up and embrace their inner child (also also true).

Does James play to the cameras and air time far too much? Absolutely, since you gotta know your crowd, and he’s failing at recognizing that some people will be okay with pranks. This is not an effective way to play the game. Still, we figure that this is just his way of having fun and embracing being in the house, since he knows he’s safe for the week and he doesn’t get to do this as much at home.
