‘Game of Thrones’ season 6, episode 10 (finale) photo: Bran’s back!

Bran -

Earlier this season, Bran Stark was front and center for an episode called “The Door,” otherwise known as one of the most-important episodes of “Game of Thrones” this season. After all, this gave us an opportunity to learn more about the White Walkers and their abilities … and then it also killed off our beloved Hodor. This is not a good season for larger-than-average characters in this world since we also lost a giant last week. (Does this mean bad things are coming for the Mountain or the Hound in the finale?)

We have one of the first photos from Sunday’s episode “The Winds of Winter,” and this is verification that we’re finally going to get a chance to see more of Bran … which is especially welcome, given that there is so much of his story we still do not know, such as how his skills as a worgen could actually change things over the course of the rest of the series.

While we know that he can go back and see things in the past, we really hope that we’re not about to get into some sort of time-travel story where he tries to change history (we know that time travelling is really hot on television right now, but this show doesn’t need it). Without that, we would enjoy if he could see the future, and try to alter things in the present, like a Seer. We think of that a little bit differently then “time travelling” since he’s not messing with things that have already occurred and rendering events of this season so far to be useless.

Ultimately, we know that one way or another, Bran has quite a role still to play. “Game of Thrones” clearly did not make us go through all of this for nothing. They always have a plan.
