‘The X Factor’ UK: Sharon Osbourne handing out harsh criticism in auditions, per reports

X Factor -

Typically when you think about someone being a particularly tough judge during a reality TV competition, Simon Cowell is the name that comes to mind, and understandably so given his track record of being harsh and at times “mean” to contestants. However, for the upcoming season of “The X Factor,” it feels more like it is Sharon Osbourne who is inheriting that crown!

Speaking per The Sun, a source is making it perfectly clear just how harsh the judge is bring, and how some auditioning contestants have left extremely emotional and upset over some of what they’ve been through:

“Sharon’s showing no mercy this year. She’s had contestants, who have queued up for 16 hours to audition, in pieces. Some were left so distraught by her comments they refused to do interviews afterwards.”

Do we feel for some of these people? Sure, but at the same time you have to know when exactly you need to tell someone that singing is not for them. It’s called a reality check, and there are often people on this show that for some reason, have never received one from anyone else in their lives. It’s unfortunate that Sharon has had to fill this role in replacement of some of them, but she can’t really be bothered with what each contestant thinks of her so long as she is telling them what she thinks they need to know in the long-term. It’s definitely better than just enabling them from the remainder of their lives into thinking they are good at this.

We’ll have a chance when the show premieres later this fall what Sharon and the contestants ultimately have to say.
