‘Outlander’ season 2, episode 11 preview: Caitriona Balfe’s Claire and a surprise reunion
Tonight on “Outlander,” the series brought to us the Battle of Prestonpans in what proved itself to be an excellently-choreographed and incredibly-dramatic sequence. Also, it was one that unfortunately led to some death. While many of our main series fixtures are still present, we did lose Angus tragically near the end of the hour.
So where do we go from here? It is an installment entitled “Vengeance Is Mine” airing on Starz next week, while will take Caitriona Balfe and many other cast members to new places as they continue to formulate their next move in the battle. The Scots may have won Prestonpans, but at the same time, many viewers out there know there is a difference between a battle and a war.
Take a look at the synopsis for this upcoming hour below, and especially take note of what is said at the tail end of this:
“Claire and the Highlanders are sent north after the Jacobite leaders decide to halt their march on London. A band of redcoats makes trouble for the Scots, leading to a most unexpected reunion for Claire.”
Ultimately, we imagine that Claire could be a haunted soul for the majority of this season, given that the Battle of Culloden is on the other side of the horizon now. This is where she would really need to change history, and based on what she has said so far this season, she is not altogether optimistic about her odds. (Nor should she be.)
