‘Chicago Fire’ season 5 spoilers: Show boss on idea of Casey – Dawson wedding

Casey and Dawson are not just one of the most iconic couples within the world of “Chicago Fire“; you can go ahead and argue that they are one of the most iconic couples in the entire Dick Wolf – “Chicago” universe. Therefore, we understand that there is a push to try to get the two married before we end up getting to the end of the end of the upcoming fifth season.

Could it happen? It’s certainly possible, and we definitely understand that there are fans pointing to the adoption process of Louie as a reason for the two characters to tie the know; after all, it would probably make it easier for it to be completed. With that being said, executive producer Matt Olmstead makes it clear to TVLine that if the two get married, it’s not going to be just for the purposes of making that happen:

“We’re not averse to that. [However], it’s not something that they would do ‘shotgun-style’ just to facilitate an adoption. They wouldn’t do it just for appearances sake. If and when they do it, they’ll do it because it’s time.”

Olmstead does not rule out the 100th episode as being the perfect time for the two characters to tie the knot, and on the surface, it certainly feels like the perfect venue for such an affair given that these two are people fans clearly want to see together in the long-term. Also, this would make for a rather nice opportunity to transform that hour into more than just a typical installment of the show.
