Bernie Sanders advocates for more Larry David on ‘Saturday Night Live’ — sort of

SNL -This weekend marked the first one in the month of May in which we were without a new episode of “Saturday Night Live,” which is a rather unfortunate thing indeed when you consider that this past weekend had a rather fantastic finale. One of the biggest reasons why was the presence of none other than Larry David, who has shown up on a number of occasions doing his fantastic impression of Bernie Sanders.

Does the Senator and Presidential candidate himself have a good impression of Larry? This was asked of him in a new behind-the-scenes video from his recent “Real Time with Bill Maher” appearance, but he didn’t really have much of an answer for that. However, he did praise the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star for being one of the funniest people in America, and then went on that he wanted to see “four more years” of him on TV.

In case you missed the subtext here, Bernie is hoping to become President.

Whether or not we actually see David appear on any more “SNL” episodes is going to heavily depend on what happens this summer, given that it is incredibly likely that we are going to end up seeing the show focus mostly on the general election. We’re not going to get political here (it’s really not our forte here at the site), but we will say that in terms of comedy, it’d be a real shame to never see David’s Bernie ask for “vacuum pennies” any longer.
