‘Outlander’ season 2, episode 8 video: Harvest time

Claire -

For the first time since this season of “Outlander,” Saturday night’s new episode is going to throw Jamie and Claire Fraser into a place that they know rather well: Scotland. They’ve departed France, and have quickly learned in the process quite a bit about the Jacobite Rebellion and also the way of things in France.

In many ways, the sneak peek below is really night-and-day from anything that they have had a chance to witness over the course of the season so far. Instead of fretting about politics or anything of the sort here, instead Claire is talking about potatoes! The harvest that she had discussed in season 1 has come home to roost, and there’s now a discussion about what to do with these said potatoes … and also a nice little moment between her and her husband.

While all seems peaceful and relatively happy here, you do have to look at this in some ways as a little bit of a distraction from the truth. There are going to be some more issues to come; while we have seen the end of the road for the Comte St. Germain, there are many other villains out there; also, the Rebellion has not ceased, and Prince Charles is still going to have a significant role to play despite one of his previous plans blowing up.

Provided that you love “Outlander,” we hope that you get a little bit of time over the course of this Memorial Day Weekend holiday to see this episode. Hopefully, you will not regret the choice.
