‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 12 finale spoilers: Jesse Williams on April, Jackson’s new addition

Fans of April and Jackson on “Grey’s Anatomy” have waited for it for quite a long time now, and come Thursday night’s season 12 finale, it will finally be here: The two parties welcoming a child! It’s a great moment for them that has been a long time coming, especially when you consider that they are coming off of such tragedy the last time they attempted to expand their family.

Of course, the unfortunate twist here is that on this occasion April and Jackson are not actually together. Speaking to TVLine on this subject, Jesse Williams made it clear that at least they are on the road to some happiness, since the child “gives Jackson and April both peace of mind that they’ve done something that does work … Their relationship may not have worked, they might have stumbled along the way, but they did accomplish something. There is a silver lining that kind of buoys them.”

Also, it is important to remember that the relationship not working right now does not necessarily equate in any way to the relationship never working in the long-term; it’s just a reflection of where things are at this particular moment, and the work that would need to be done. These two give us hope that there could be one torn-apart Shondaland couple that finds their way back to each other over time, but they have to find ways in the process to not hurt each other in the same ways they once did.
