‘Suits’ season 6 premiere date confirmed; see first description now!

Suits -If you are a frequent reader of CarterMatt, then you know one thing about us already: We love “Suits.” It’s probably one of our favorite shows on TV. It’s such a great character-focused drama that has memorable names, heroes, villains, and cool fashion to go along with it.

Now, we’ve also got an official premiere date for season 6: Wednesday, July 13 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. This is the same day that “Mr. Robot” premieres for its second season, which means effectively that the two shows are working in lockstep once more. The synopsis below (via TVLine) also gives you a little bit more of a sense as to what is coming up this season:

“After signing a plea deal to spare his colleagues at Pearson Specter Litt, Mike will be confronted with the harsh realities of prison life as he starts his two-year sentence. Meanwhile, the once bustling Pearson Specter Litt offices are a ghost town — the partners have defected, leaving Harvey, Jessica, Louis, Donna and Rachel to pick up the pieces. But the firm’s troubles are far from over, and they will have to deal with the fallout from Mike’s crime before they can even begin to rebuild.”

One thing that we do really love here is that the show is not just giving you a cop-out time jump, and is actually throwing us into the meat of the story with Mike behind bars. We’re going to get to see more of his struggling, including how he copes with what will be inevitably a really tough situation for him.

One other thing to watch for is the status of Gina Torres throughout this season, given that she has a pilot over at ABC that could signal eventually Jessica having a reduced role on this show. We’re happy for her, but it’s a bummer in a way since the close-knit cast is one of the reasons why “Suits” really works for us.
