‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 9, episode 22 review: Why Sheldon loves trains; Raj’s plan falls apart

Sheldon -The ninth season of “The Big Bang Theory” has been entertaining as of late, but there are also a few flaws still in the system. For one, we think that it’s been a long time since the show delivered any sort of super-memorable moment. Really, the last time we had this was when Bernadette announced that she was pregnant.

Tonight, we did have a really nice series of moments between Bernadette and Sheldon, an unlikely duo who bonded because she couldn’t go on the wine trip with the rest of the group. He told her a thing or two about why he loves trains so much (a stable element in his life), and he also gave her a way to escape being “Pregnant Bernadette” with everyone else via a game of Dungeons & Dragons. It wasn’t really laugh-out-loud funny, but it was sweet.

Elsewhere, the show did give us another supremely memorable moment when Raj’s “dating multiple women” strategy blew up massively in his face when Zack (we love Zack, by the way) was terrible at following some of his advice. Also, Raj accidentally let it slip that he was dating more than one woman, and it was bad enough that he referred to Claire as a friend when the two showed up. Once again, not particularly funny, but important for the show.

When it comes to story, it’s hard to doubt that this episode delivered. We just wish that somewhere before the finale, we also get some more classic humor that defined the show in its earlier seasons. Grade: B.
