‘Supernatural’ season 11, episode 20 preview: Chuck returns in ‘Don’t Call Me Shurley’

Supernatural -

The first thing we have to say about next week’s “Supernatural” is rather simple: We love the title. How could we not when it is a clear reference to “Airplane!” and a popular line from the movie? “Don’t Call Me Shurley” is a great name, and it does surely set up what should be a really entertaining hour of TV. We expect nothing else given that we’re getting into the home stretch of this season, and things are only going to be getting more dangerous from here on out.

Want to get some other news in terms of what to expect? Well, the synopsis below makes it clear that you’re going to be seeing the grand return of Rob Benedict in the iconic (and super-fun) role of Chuck:

“Amara (guest star Emily Swallows) unleashes a dark fog on a small town, causing everyone to go mad. Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) realize this is a stronger version of the original black vein virus Amara previously unleashed. They team up with the sheriff to protect the town but their old remedy no longer works. Meanwhile, Chuck (Rob Benedict) returns with an interesting proposal.”

It’s a shame that Chuck is not really much of a factor in the new sneak peek below; instead, more of its emphasis seems to be on the black vein virus, and also doing whatever needs to be done now in order to stop Amara. (Spoiler alert: There’s a lot that needs to be done.)
