‘Vikings’ season 4, episode 11 video: The trajectory of Ivar the Boneless
We certainly have to feel rather fortunate to History and the entire production crew of “Vikings” at the moment. After all, they are refusing to allow the series to go quietly into the night while we wait for new episodes to air a little bit later in the fall.
In the new video below, you can see show executive producer Michael Hirst and others give some historical perspective on the subject of Ragnar’s sons, who have certainly been important on the series so far, and are definitely going to continue to do so. Specifically, we know that Ivar the Bonesless will be a major player, and is in part why the show decided to execute the major time jump at the end of Thursday night’s spring finale.
While this video is not necessarily ripe with spoilers for the second half of the season per se, we do think that it is a worthy companion to what will be coming up. It provides you with an opportunity to explore some more of what the show’s upcoming themes will be, and also allow for some further insight into what defines some of these people now. Given how important these characters to Ragnar and the show’s legacy, the timing feels right for this video to be unleashed.
Now, we just have to wait for History to do something similar in terms of a return date for the series. We’ll have more news as it comes out in the weeks / months ahead.

Because the actors and crew are unable to work 24/7 for months/years on end. And primarily, because new episodes/seasons do not get picked up until the networks decide after accessing the viewership and advertising revenues.
