‘The Walking Dead’ season 7: Who (surprisingly) knows who Negan killed?

twdYou may still have to wait until October to know who Negan murdered on “The Walking Dead,” but there is at least one more person you can add to the list of people who already know the answer … and it’s someone who hasn’t even been on the show in a while.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly Radio, Tyler James Williams (who played Noah, and is now on “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders”) confirmed that he learned the identity of the dearly departed back during the show’s season 6 production, but of course he wouldn’t say who it was. He did, however, explain the complicated process that many cast members go through when it comes to keeping secrets:

“We all still speak and they kind of keep me up to date and stuff on what’s going on and all of that. … You have to understand [showrunner Scott M. Gimple] knows everything seasons and seasons out, so people knew, but we can’t say anything. No one can say anything. So it’s actually better to say that we don’t know.”

We do get what Williams is saying here, mostly because if you act as though you are in the dark, it’s probably easier to keep people from bugging you in the end. Maybe they’ll question you a few times, but ultimately, this is just another clever move in order to ensure that nobody ends up violating their contract on accident and getting sued for a million dollars.

The unfortunate thing is that one way or another, there’ll probably be some on the internet who learn the identity of the deceased well before season 7 airs. That’s one of the biggest reasons why we feel Gimple and AMC made a mistake with this cliffhanger.
