‘Saturday Night Live’ preview: Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bobby Moynihan talk coffee spit

SNL -There’s a new episode of “Saturday Night Live” coming up once again this weekend, and this time around, the show is bringing in someone who may be a sure thing to bring some great comedy to the table in Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

What’s fun about the “Seinfeld” and “Veep” star is that like Sarah Silverman (who hosted the show a ways back), she’s one of those people who really isn’t known for being a former cast member, and there’s a pretty funny joke made about that in the promo below when Bobby Moynihan tells her that she should reprise some of he memorable characters, only to fail when it comes to actually naming them. There’s also a fun sequence in here about someone spitting in Julia’s coffee.

As far as previews go, this is one of the better ones that we’ve seen, and that of course gives us hope for this episode since Louis-Dreyfus can make almost anything funny. Also, her presence means that we could have a possible Larry David cameo once more as Bernie Sanders; they obviously have their history on “Seinfeld,” and she took part on the reunion arc with Jerry Seinfeld on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” when the show did that. Plus, with Bernie still in the headlines and the Presidential race going strong, we’ll have to see ultimately what happens. The pieces are in place.

For those wondering, the musical guest for this weekend’s show is none other than Nick Jonas.
