‘Supernatural’ season 11 spoilers: ‘The Vampire Diaries’ actress poised for big role

What's coming up? -

The CW has long made a habit out of using the same actors for a variety of different shows — just look for evidence at the likes of Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy, Grant Gustin, and Chris Wood (who is getting set to appear in “Containment”) for some sort of evidence of that.

Now, the latest beneficiary of this sort of thing appears to be Elizabeth Blackmore. According to E! Online, the actress (who is playing Valerie at the moment on “The Vampire Diaries“) is going to be appearing near the end of “Supernatural” season 11, and is poised to also recur over the course of the 12th season as well. Her role is that of Lady Toni Bevell, a young woman from overseas who quickly realizes that she really does have quite a bit in common with Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles). Is she another hunter? It’s possible, but it certainly is also possible that she’s a monster or some sort of descendant from the same family tree. Really, anything is possible, so let’s not waste too much more time getting all mired in speculation here.

With that means is that we’re getting a recurring female character on the show once more, which is to be frank something that this show almost always needs a little bit more of, given that for now the only significant female characters we have are Rowena and also Amara, who feels very much like a one-season Big Bad though we suppose it’s possible the show could surprise us. Sure, there are also people like Jody Mills, but we only tend to see her for an episode or two a season. Blackmore’s role appears as though it will be at least a tad more frequent.

Also, let’s just hope that Lady Toni doesn’t die. How often does that happen to women on this show?
