‘Madam Secretary’ season 2 spoilers: Show heads to real-life United Nations

Secretary -For those of you who really do love it when “Madam Secretary” is authentic as possible, the upcoming April 17 installment entitled “Ghost Detainee” is going to be an opportunity to see a little bit more news regarding what happens when she pays a visit to the United Nationals General Assembly … and it will actually be the real setting. It’s rare that TV shows / movies get to film here for a variety of different locations, so it is rather cool that this show is getting that chance.

So what sort of story surrounds this particular appearance? The synopsis below gives you a little more information as to what to expect:

“After Elizabeth delivers her first speech to the United Nations General Assembly formally condemning the terrorist group Hizb-al Shahid, she discusses forming a coalition against them with the Russian Foreign Minister. However, the talks create a conflict of interest between Elizabeth and Henry, who is searching for a way to save Dmitri’s ill sister, Talia Petrov, from the Russian government, on MADAM SECRETARY, Sunday, April 17(8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Scenes were filmed on location at the United Nations General Assembly in New York City.”

While we’d like to think that something in here could be a nice foundation for the upcoming finale, we’re not entirely sure that this is the case at present. Instead, this just may be a situation where the show is taking advantage of a cool setting, and telling a great story all around that.
