‘The Fosters’ season 3 finale spoilers: Maia Mitchell teases Callie – AJ story
While there has always been at least something between Callie and Brandon on “The Fosters,” at the same time we’ve seen the two of them try to move forward in some way through much of season 3. He has a new love interest himself in Cortney, though we’re not quite sure how they are going to move forward given all of the stumbles that they’ve had already.
As for Callie, she has been in a relationship with AJ, but it is one that has definitely had a wide array of ups and downs so far. They’re not on perfect terms right now, and based on what Maia Mitchell said to TVLine, they’re not going to be completely repaired by the time you get to the finale either:
“You see her really try to mend that relationship, but that’s not fully resolved. We’re going to have to wait until Season 4 for that one.”
Mitchell also talked about Callie’s history with Brandon, and how she is trying to move forward taking what she’s learned both from their romantic history, and also everything going on as of late in between Jack’s death and the Romeo & Juliet musical:
“I go back and forth myself, personally, with Callie and Brandon all the time… She’s definitely reflecting and sad and grieving and proud of him. I don’t think it’s going to change their course of action. They both know what has to happen, and they’re on the right track with it. It’s just that they will have moments where stuff happens [like in] the garage. It’s bound to happen. But they both know what the priority is.”
