‘American Horror Story’ season 6: Lady Gaga to return

American Horror Story -

There is no longer any ambiguity when it comes to Lady Gaga and her future on the “American Horror Story” franchise.

According to radio host Elvis Duran, the pop superstar will return to the FX series for some sort of role next season. At the moment details are still vague, but this is at least a relief for Gaga fans who were worried that her other commitments would keep her from coming back on.

For the most part, we feel that this show was a nice step for Gaga as she moves her career in a new direction. She won the Golden Globe for her role as the Countess on “American Horror Story: Hotel,” and she also was nominated recently for an Academy Award and performed a lengthy tribute to David Bowie at the Grammys. This has been a big year for her, so it is quite a coup for Ryan Murphy and the network to get her back.

Now that we’ve said that, we’d love to see Gaga take on a role that is a little more old-school and classical, something that could not be any more different than the role she played previously. We know that “American Horror Story” is in some ways the definition of excess, so we want to try to understand further what the show would look like if it went a little more subtle and refined. Sometimes, limitations do end up being the best thing that you can give to a series.
