‘Survivor: Kaoh Rong’ rankings: Has anything changed on Beauty tribe?
There are weeks when doing these “Survivor” rankings is going to be a lot of fun … but there are also weeks where there simply is not that much to write about. For the Gondol a.k.a. Beauty tribe on “Survivor: Kaoh Rong,” we’re looking more at the latter. Two people dominated the screen time this past week, and as a result of that it’s hard to really change too much in the rankings here.
If you are new to the site, here’s a quick note on how we’re placing in some of these people: Strategy, edit, screen time, challenge ability, effectiveness around camp, and individual threat level.
6. Nick Maiorano (last week: 5) – We’re starting to get the sense that the Beauty tribe is probably not heading to Tribal Council for a rather long time, so with that we’re basing Nick’s placement here on this question: Who among the remaining contestants has a shot to win? Nick hasn’t gotten the screen time, and when he has, he’s been shown as super-cocky. We haven’t seen him have any solid alliances.
5. Tai Trang (6) – We once again find ourselves in a position where we want to rank Tai higher but on our love for him as a character, but he already has a reputation as being sneaky. He may know where the immunity idol is, but the problem is that he doesn’t actually have it. If he and Caleb get a good alliance going and they can work together to get the idol, maybe we’ll feel a little bit better about his chances.
4. Caleb Reynolds (4) – Beast Mode Cowboy has seemingly done a good job of putting his ego in check, and we like the idea of him working with someone like Tai who has a completely different skill set. Here’s the only rub: We haven’t seen anything in the edit to suggest that the three young women on this tribe are starting to split up. They’re still likely running the show.
3. Julia Sokolowski (3) – The rest of this will feel a little predictable. We’re giving Julia bonus points for being probably the most-likely person on this whole tribe to make the final three; however, we deduct her some points for being someone who will really need to prove herself to have a chance at winning.
2. Anna Khait (2) – It’s really hard to differentiate #2 from #1 at the moment. As we said last week, we’re giving Michele the slight edge right now mostly because she’s surpassing our pre-game expectation; Anna is meeting them, but we were admittedly higher on her entering the game.
1. Michele Fitzgerald (1) – The irony here is that Michele probably needs Anna to go far in the game, while Anna probably needs Michele. Anna’s probably the more strategic of the two, but we see Michele being a little bit better at disarming people and making them feel at ease.
