‘Top Chef: California’ episode 10 preview: Disaster continues for District L.A.

Top Chef -

We’re one hour into the latest edition of “Top Chef” Restaurant Wars, and at at the moment, it feels like one of the biggest blowouts we’ve ever seen in the history of the show. While Team Palette has not been perfect, their mistakes seem minimal to the catastrophe that Amar, Jeremy, Kwame, and Phillip have going on over at District L.A. so far.

Flashback for a minute to Thursday night’s new episode, where Jeremy made the decision to prioritize the judges over every other person in the dining room. This was not only a hugely disrespectful move to everyone who came out to have a cool experience related to the show, but also completely messed with the flow of the kitchen. Sure, Phillip may be the most inconsistent of the four chefs on this team and has come under fire before for arrogance, but in this case Jeremy seems to be taking the cake as the most arrogant of all. He’s talented, but you have to run the restaurant right!

In the sneak peek below from Thursday night’s episode, it seems as though some of Jeremy’s problems are bleeding over to Amar, who doesn’t seem as interested in quality control for Kwame and Jeremy as he is just making sure that his food is good and the kitchen is running smoothly. As a result of that, Phillip is hearing several complaints at the front of the house over how under-cooked some of the steaks are. Will these guys be able to turn things around? At this point, we almost hope that they get ripped a little bit given that Amar seems to be doing a whole lot of the same thing (chicken), and there seems to be an overall sentiment that talent alone will carry the day.

As negative as we are on these guys right now, who knows? Maybe they’ll get things together, and then Team Palette will fall apart.
