‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: How Laurel Lance will play a role (aside from kicking butt)

Over the course of “Arrow” season 4, we have certainly seen quite a bit of Laurel Lance kicking butt and taking names as the Black Canary. With that being said, is it about time we see more of what she can do with her mind? We know that she’s highly intelligent (you have to be in order to become an employee of the District Attorney’s office), and for those of you who feel like the character has been under-utilized, rest assured that there is some great stuff coming up.

With this in mind, just take a look at what executive producer Wendy Mericle teased as a part of a new Entertainment Weekly interview:

“Laurel is going to be really crucial in getting Damien Darhk and putting a big wrench in his plans … We’re excited because she’s going to be a key part of that plan, and it’s not going to be action-oriented.”

Hopefully, this means that Laurel can either use some of her connections at the D.A.’s office, or simply just her own intuition in order to figure out how to solve the mystery of our new Big Bad. Even aside from her work, she’s got a lot of life experience to turn to at rough times. She’s lost her sister, had her sister brought back, and then lost her again. Not only that, but she has both suffered from addiction and also tried to help her father Quentin tackle some of his own demons. If anyone can handle adversity, it is certainly her.
