‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: Is Oliver going to come clean about William?

When we jumped forward in time at the end of Wednesday night’s episode of “Arrow,” one thing was noticeable right away to many fans: Felicity Smoak no longer has that engagement ring around her finger. Ultimately, we don’t thin that it takes a real master of deduction to figure out what has happened here to cause things to go sideways, either: Oliver did something to mess it up. Specifically, it probably has to do with his son William and that big secret hanging over his head.

You may find out quite a bit more in the way of information on this subject, in addition to some of the long-term implications of Oliver’s move, on the upcoming 14th episode of the season entitled “Code of Silence” (airing on February 17). The synopsis below proves a little more information on that particular subject:

“Oliver (Stephen Amell) and team uncover HIVE’s plan to take out Team Arrow once and for all. With HIVE’s next attack imminent, Lance (Paul Blackthorne) wonders if Donna (guest star Charlotte Ross) is safer without him in her life. Meanwhile, with the wedding fast approaching, Oliver begins to feel guilty that he hasn’t told Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) about his son.”

You have to think that any sort of broken engagement rules out the wedding plan, right? Well, it does at least for a little while. We’re still not ruling out the possibility that these characters figure something out by the end of the season, but it’s going to take Oliver doing better and also not lying about things that are ultimately rather petty to lie about. He could’ve trusted Felicity with this!
