‘Elementary’ season 4, episode 8 preview: Is something going on with Watson, Detective Bell?
While we know that there will be a significant mystery at the heart of next week’s new episode of “Elementary,” we know that those of you who watched the show are probably thinking something specific after watching the promo for “A Burden of Blood”: What’s going on with Watson and Bell?
Sherlock is going to have very heightened suspicions about the two of them on the next new episode, with much of it stemming from the fact that he has seen signs of him spending a whole lot more time around her. He demands that it stops for some professional reason or another … but the problem for him is that it is certainly possible that nothing is going on here at all. The synopsis below actually hints that there may be a particular motivation behind her actions towards the detective:
“Holmes and Watson investigate a homicide in which the victim was murdered in a manner reminiscent of the crimes of an infamous, and already incarcerated, serial killer. Also, Sherlock and Joan tutor Detective Bell for a police sergeant’s exam that would lead to a promotion and a post at another precinct.”
We’ve mentioned this before, but the show has themselves in a rather peculiar position with Bell at the moment: He’s great at his job, but do you really want to remove him from the rest of the cast? You have to find a way to make it so that he is being appreciated by the NYPD for his work without removing him from the action and Holmes’ investigations. It’s tricky.
