‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ finale spoilers: Can the Cortez really start anew?
“American Horror Story: Hotel” has certainly been a polarizing journey, with there being many twists, turns, and deaths every step of the way. Yet, next week the journey will end with an installment entitled “Be Our Guest” that, in some ways, doesn’t feel like it is really needed given some of the events that took place over the course of tonight’s episode.
Let’s start our preview by doing the sensible thing, and that is sharing the short synopsis below:
“In the season finale, a new era begins at the Cortez under Iris and Liz. Elsewhere: John and Alex struggle to adapt to life outside the hotel.”
The question that we would ask of you moving into this episode is ultimately rather simple: Is there anyone of substance who could actually make it through this season alive? Should anyone? The biggest flaw that we’ve seen throughout “Hotel” is the lack of a true protagonist, and maybe it was meant to be that way.
As of right now, a good percentage of our characters are either undead or ghosts. Mr. March, Sally, and the Countess are all in spirit form, we presume Ramona is gone, Donovan got a somewhat-peaceful afterlife, and we have no idea how in the world Ryan Murphy is going to end all of this. We’ll find out within the span of seven days. If you want some more coverage before that, we’ll be back with Jason Prager to podcast this week’s episode in a matter of days.
