‘Gotham’ season 2 video: New teaser all about Victor Fries

In case you somehow missed it, Victor Fries a.k.a. Mr. Freeze is coming to “Gotham” in the second half of this season! While there are few definite details right now surrounding how the character will appear, what we know for certain is that he will have a few things in common with the comic-book iteration, though we are likely coming at him in an earlier stage of his career.

The video below really doesn’t give you anything else when it comes to insight; instead it’s just another look at how much the show is framing the upcoming episodes around the Victor character. Think of this as a sign that he is not going to be going away anytime soon, and that he could have some connections to the city in the years to come, even if he is eventually apprehended.

What makes Fries a more complicated villain than a Theo Galavan is that so much of his drive stems from his wife, and through that story we may start to understand more of why he operates and does some of the terrible things that he does. He’s not like a Jerome in that he is not enveloped in madness. He’s the sort of foe that Jim Gordon and the GCPD have not faced off with yet in the show’s short history.

As for whether or not Galavan is truly gone from the series at this point, the cliffhanger ending with Hugo Strange makes us think that there is a chance that he or other villains such as Fish Mooney could find a way to still return, not to mention with certain enhancements thanks to Strange’s experiments.
